The Theory of Religion

The Theory of Religion
By Ezequiel Gardea

How can religion itself be a motive to break peace between societies around the world? Conflicts between one simple idea and interpretation of the bible have us all in conflict. Really religion has been manipulated by men to blind and dull feelings and reality while still giving a sense of well-being.  A sense used to control a society for many years. False feelings that have turn many to atheism?
Every religion ensures peace but yet breaks it in the battle of gaining power and control of the people to better ensure their self in the competition of a great number of denominations.
For many centuries there has been evidence of religion being the root of all power but only recently has the power of religion decreased because of the change of society itself. Churches have controlled everything such as politics and the composition of music as well. Some religions use music for their benefit to evoke emotions, therefore to gain trust.
It is hard to really know which religion or denomination is the right one. Especially because there is always conflict between religions that never seem to get resolve. The Palestinians and the Israelis have been fighting over religious purposes over a great amount of years. Their conflict is yet to be resolved through a peaceful process which I think is the only solution to a religious based problem either in a local or international level. One of the main reasons for conflict between different societies is because of the rejection of reality. Most believers do not believe in certain scientific realities.
A religious person can reject the reality of scientific discovery on any circumstance. For instance the big bang theory and the theory of evolution are some rejections religious people enforce. Why can’t we link religion and science as one?  There has to be an explanation behind it all either from a scientifically point of view or spiritually. That’s why both of these go hand-in-hand.
In the end we as humans do not reach to fully understand the concept of religion. We have made religion to attempt to understand God, man, and the universe but we barley scratch the surface of it all. The conflicts of religion can be far too violent which in any case defeats the purpose of even having a religion. Religion should be a relation with God in a direct manner, not sidetracked by man and his ideas that do not evoke peace in many case. A peaceful solution is needed in every level of life starting from inner peace.

  1. I belive that the reason for war comes about becaue of how people interpret their religion. What sacred Islamic, Jewish and Christian books mention is to be humble and peaceful. Humans are the ones that mold these believes into what we want.
